FATCHIP implemented the new CenterCourt web shop for tennis equipment and still maintains its technical development. CenterCourt.de is based on OXID eShop Enterprise Edition 4 that has been broadly expanded and adapted according to the customer’s requests.

Customer profile

CenterCourt.de offers more than 100,000 articles of well-known tennis brands. The web shop always is up-to-date concerning regular offers of top brands as well as exclusive tennis brands. The product range reaches from t-shirts and tennis skirts to tennis equipment. As one of Europe’s biggest tennis shops, CenterCourt.de offers its retail customers a special highlight: with its RACKET iD, SHOE iD und BAG iD, the products can be personalized.

Requirement

Within an OXID shop update, the customer wanted a full frontend relaunch. Since the web shop contains numerous articles and has many site hits, performance analysis and optimizations were necessary. Additionally, special demands resulted from the stringing and personalization function. With this, the retail customers are able to choose the matching stringing and personalization of their tennis racket.

Technical realization

The online shop needed to be updated to the latest OXID eShop Enterprise Edition. Within this process, all existing functions were to be kept. In order to assure a sufficient performance, a server-cluster system had to be connected and several best-practice performance optimizations had to be implemented. The customer’s feature requests were mostly covered with existing FATCHIP plugins. Additionally, upgrades were developed in order to ensure the fulfillment of all requests. Furthermore, the elaborate templates had to be applied to the OXID framework.
